32 weeks is huge –
The most common week for babies to come after fetal surgery is 34 weeks, but 32 is the average.
After 32 weeks, the NICU stays for these babies significantly decreases, and a lot of them do really well.
Our little guy is still that- LITTLE! 7th percentile (but up from the 5th percentile!)
So obviously we want to keep him inside for MUCH longer.
But I am breathing a little easier, and allowed a LITTLE more freedom.
We had a good ultrasound the other day – fluid was 7.6 – holding strong just about critical range!
His ventricles are still 16-18, which we are content with at this time.
He looks good on the growth curve, and did well on his monitoring.
I’ve been having more frequent and stronger contractions. They are making me nervous! I’ll often spend all day timing them – over 10 minutes apart, we stay home. Under 10 minutes apart, we go to the hospital. There have been many 10-15 minutes apart.
I feel like it’s only a matter of time before something happens, but for now we are happy with our strong 32 weeker!!!
If my legs look skinny – it’s because they are. I’ve lost a LOT of muscle mass in the last 7 weeks of bed rest. I put on some yoga pants the other day that used to fit well – and they are HUGE.
I’m looking forward to walking again, and dreading it at the same time, because it is going to be HARD.
My Dr.s said I may need some physical therapy.
Especially because after months of bed rest, I’ll need 6-8 weeks of recovery after my c-section.
So grateful to still be pregnant!!!!!
