(Nate posted this on Facebook following the surgery.)
Announcing sweet little Calvin Worth B., who was introduced to the world this afternoon at. He was out for about 37 minutes – just long enough for the repair to be done on his spine – then returned to his mother’s womb to keep growing big and strong for at least 10 more weeks (as long as Cami’s uterus, baby Cal, and our doctors are all on the same page).
We are so grateful for miracles and medicine, and for the amazing opportunity our little guy has to start healing right away. The defect in his spine was a lot larger than expected and we were so glad we were able to have the surgery. Thank you all for your love and prayers, we feel so blessed!
Cami is doing well. She apparently is very loving when she emerges from anesthesia. She called everyone in the OR and her room by name and told them that she loved them and that they were the best. She then repeated that for the next hour after waking up. She also announced to us that she was ready to go home and that she wanted to go to Disneyland.
Watch for her updates on our blog. They might take a few days while she continues to recover.
The pictures are of Cami with Cal’s Neurosurgeon, Cal’s back and Cami’s uterus and last of all of Cami and me.
