Thank you all for your kindness to us these last few weeks. Your texts, emails, and calls all mean so much to us. Nate’s at church right now, so I’m alone here and thought I would send a write a quick update and some pictures.
The OB came in this morning to check my fluid level. On Friday when we came in our MFM (high-risk OB, maternal fetal medicine specialist) measured it at 3.5. Yesterday the OB said there wasn’t even enough fluid to measure. This morning another OB measured me at 3.1. It’s the weekend, so we haven’t had an MFM measure since Friday – and they are the experts – so we are hoping by tomorrow the fluids will be high enough to go home. But it is possible that I will have to stay in the hospital until I deliver, which could (hopefully) be at least 8 more weeks.
This morning Nate gave Calvin and me a blessing. He blessed us that there would be enough fluid so that Calvin could have what he needs and continue to grow and develop. Babies can keep growing for a long time on a little fluid… but their mommies have to stay in the hospital. So we are hoping for the best, but are at peace and trying to have faith, knowing whatever happens will happen for a reason. We are thankful I got at least one day out of the hospital, and feel so blessed that that one day was our anniversary, so we could be together and free, without nurses and doctors coming and going all day long.
Nate met with the bishop and the RS president of the ward that covers the hospital this morning (the Peoria ward). The RS president told him she wants to come visit me this week, which is so nice of her. Nate says he thinks she’s shorter than me, though we may never know because I’m not allowed to stand up very much :-).
Nate brought me a box of goodies from Alyson’s house last night from Nate’s family – it was very exciting! It was a pretty emotional day yesterday and I was pretty emotional opening the gifts, and putting the ones to open later away. I am very excited for the crochet hooks, and already was given some yarn that someone donated to the hospital. (It was actually from the Teen Lounge that we explored last night. They totally thought we were teenagers. But they were cool with us hanging out there after we told them we weren’t.) Alysha sent me some books to read too, and put some of her favorites on hold at their library for me. We are so blessed to have such a caring family.
Thank you all again for all your support. We are in much better spirits today and overall feeling good, and we know it’s in large part due to the prayers of others. We love you all! Feel free to text/email/call any time
Love, Cami (and Nate and Calvin)
