When we got to the NICU yesterday morning we found our little glow worm was back.
One step backward. His bili was up to 12. Last time he was on the lights it was 9.
We also decided it was time for the feeding tube.
We were hoping to avoid it, that Calvin would take off with his eating and never need it!
We are already learning to be more patient with our little man
Putting in the tube means we can go to exclusively feeding him breast milk which means we can take his central line out.
He will have much less risk of dangerous infection with a feeding tube instead of a central line.
And we can hold him without being AS careful about pulling out all his lines!
AND when we put the tube in, I heard him cry for the first time!
It was sad and adorable.
He earned himself a break from the lights and some serious snuggle time afterward.
