Happy Birthday to Nate,
He’s now twenty-eight!
Normally I don’t give away ages, but it was the perfect rhyme.
This was our 5th Nate’s birthday, and I’m afraid it was, by far, the lamest.
So I’m going to do a reminder of his other birthdays, so he remembers how cool I am even though this birthday wasn’t as awesome:
His first birthday WC (with Cami):
He turned the big 2-4 in Denver, Colorado. I was living in Provo that summer, so I flew to Denver to be with him on his birthday. We were kind of dating/ kind of seeing other people for the summer, but I came anyway. I was that dedicated :-). I bought him tickets to a Rockies game and awesome Rockies shirts.
On Nate’s 25th birthday we were in Fiji and went to a resort with kayaks and snorkeling, and lots of interesting people. We also got to stay in our own hotel room instead of sharing with a bunch of other people, and we got out of the little green house on Kavika street that we were sharing with 17 other people, so it was a big deal.
For his 26 birthday… well, you can read about it here, but it was a pretty awesome day in Provo!
Last year we went to Buffalo Bills, a kind of ghetto amusement park on the border of California and Nevada.
This year Nate got up early and studied all. day. long.
On his birthday.
At least I brought him balloons and cake!
(jk, I didn’t even do that. I’m a crappy wife.)
The night before his birthday Nate’s study buddies and their families surprised him with a birthday dinner at Red Robin. The waiter gave the 8 children balloons before the food came.
Not a good idea. Most were much too excited about the balloons to eat a thing.
The highlight was probably the high-speed go-carts I took Nate to the night of his birthday (he took a few hours off of studying). My parents were in town for a funeral and were able to join us.
My mom was hesitant about the go-carts at first, but by the end she was loving it.
(By the way, are they really called go-carts?? I’m pretty sure I’ve been saying goat-carts for about 20 years now….not sure why…)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!!!
