Dear Center for Service and Learning:
Thank you for the free Papa John’s chicken pizza and cookies the other day. Chicken pizza is my favorite, how did you know?
Dear Campus Life:
Thank you for the free apples yesterday. I’m not sure if I was supposed to get 2, but thank you anyway. They were the most delicious free apples I’ve ever had.
I’m sorry Lisa and I crashed your party this morning, but thank you for the free bagels. I might think about taking an honors class for real now, due to your wonderful hospitality and generosity toward outsiders.
On another note, my body is changing.
No, I’m not going through puberty (thanks for abstaining from mean jokes about size and voice level).
And no I’m not pregnant.
I’m just becoming a winter sissy-la-la. This is me exactly 2 years ago.
This is mid-December in Upstate NY. Freezing, icey, bitter, frigid, my-hair-freezes-when-I-drive-to-seminary-if-I-don’t-have-time-to-blow-dry-it cold Upstate NY.
And there I am, sledding with no hat or gloves, in shorts, rain-boots, and a rain-coat.
This year…let’s just say when I walked into the office yesterday morning my co-worker called me
I’m not sure why he chose to call me a Russian grandmother, but I suppose it had something to do with my 18 layers of clothings, boots, 2 hats, mittens AND gloves, and my giant overcoat.
