‘What!?’ you say? ‘You got married the day after Christmas?’
Why yes, yes we did.
You probably think that was a bad idea, but really it was a GREAT idea! You know that feeling you get after you open your last present? Mostly happy, but a little sad now that it’s all over. That doesn’t happen to me anymore! When that feeling comes I just think, ‘tomorrow there will be more surprises and fun, it’s our anniversary!’
Also, this time of year is so special. We get to celebrate Christmas, be with our families, and set goals for the new year while reflecting on the past. I can’t imagine a more perfect time to celebrate our anniversary.
It’s been an AWESOME year, probably my favorite 365 days I’ve ever lived! We’ve worked hard, played hard, studied hard, served hard, and fallen asleep every night more in love than the night before (if you can even believe that!)
It has also been a year full of big decisions and uncertainties. It was amazing and a miracle that after months and months of hard work and disappointments our year culminated with our fate being set for the next four years, as our prayers were answered and Nate was accepted to medical school.
More than anything I’m so grateful for Nate and every single day I think about how lucky I am to have him in my life. One year down, and a wonderful eternity to go!
