Yesterday in Senior Primary (ages 8-12) we had *one* child. I had a new song to introduce, and I was super prepared to teach it. BUT it took a lot of work to prepare, and it was pretty good (if I do say so myself – involving balloons, and a clever contraption to pop them) so I decided to wait until next week when we’ll probably have more kids to teach it.
But the problem remains – what to do with lone boy?
Well, I decided to have him sing a solo for us (his two teachers, the two members of the primary presidency and myself) at the podium, because really, what kid doesn’t love to talk into a microphone?
With a little guidance from me, the child chose the song Follow the Prophet.
For those of you who don’t know, Follow the Prophet is 9 verses long. And has 9 choruses.
It took him 15 minutes to sing through the whole song.
It was a great Sunday.
