So, in honor of our Studio, I declare this week on Nate & Cami ‘The Studio Week’. And maybe next week, too, depending on how often I get around to writing love-posts to the Studio. Look forward to it. It will be great.
For the past year and a half we’ve watched several of our neighbors (8 to be exact) sell their contracts to new neighbors. We’ve watched the old neighbors excitedly move out, and new neighbors (almost always newlyweds, with all of their brand new presents) excitedly move in.
The other day we sold our contract.
It was incredibly bittersweet, not at all like I expected. Only two days after posting our opening, and about 20 contacts in the meantime, it went faster than expected as well. I’ve really come to love the Studio, and feel a sense of ownership (though really it belongs to Bob, our landlord, who has been great). The engaged couple that will be moving in thinks its theirs now. One more month, love-birds, it’s still ours!
One month from tomorrow – one little month – we will be packing up our home and our life and moving on to a new one. Our life here has been wonderful. Our time in ‘The Cave’ (aka, ‘The Studio’, aka, our 17 ft by 13 ft apartment) has been wonderful. The Studio was our first home together, BYU was my first love, and Provo is the first place I’ve ever felt like I belong.
