Yes, my friends, The Studio has taught me so, so much! First of all, I learned that I am very nosy. Or maybe observant. Either way, I know exactly when everyone in our complex (which consists of 5 other apartments, all have 2 rooms, so unlucky for them) comes or goes, who is home, who is doing laundry (and when the laundry is done and they haven’t taken it out yet) and particularly, the daily schedules of our upstairs neighbors, including when they go to bed and wake up, shower and brush their teeth, open their drawers, eat in the kitchen, and walk around.
I don’t always WANT to know all these things, but our window looks out to this:
(In fact, right at this very moment I am watching our neighbor Steve talk to our other neighbor Paul. My guess is they are talking about moving stuff because Steve has been carrying moving-looking stuff and in and out all day.)
And our bathroom shares a (very thin) wall with this:
And our upstairs neighbors are kind of loud, plus their water pipes run through our walls.
Oh, and there is also a hole in the wall in the laundry room, and you can see right into our bathroom!
See? That’s the pipe to our bathtub…
I also know when anyone uses the hose, because that pipe also runs through our walls, and for some reason it sounds like there’s an airplane taking off 10 feet away, and someone running their nails down a chalkboard 2 feet away. (Not entirely pleasant, but very funny when Nate and I are both here.)
I also learned that Provo isn’t as safe as it seems. 2 bikes were stolen from right outside The Studio!
