Everyone that has been to college or is currently in college knows that most months you spend more than you make. This month Nate and I were soooo excited because we were finally going to end the month NOT in the red. We have been finding new ways to budget, and they are working out great!
(Example: I was looking at our finances one night and told Nate I had found a way to save on our groceries. He was intrigued until I told him my new method was ‘eating less’.)
Anyway, two days ago we were looking at our monthly budget and smiling. Then, last night, things started to change. Here is what has come up in the last 24 hours:
- Another unexpected medical school application totaling $175
- Unexpected plane tickets totaling $590 when Nate’s rapid rewards unexpectedly didn’t work
- and the winner? Unexpected car expenses totaling nearly $630
ANNNND that ends the month with a grand unexpected $1395. Awesome.
But, I’m sure everyone who reads this will be able to relate, and will have had days like this. Such is life. We are learning and growing as destitute college students, and we are loving (almost) every minute.
